Private Desktop™ - Provides a second password protected
screen.
Tropical Software
today announced the release Private Desktop™, a 32-bit
application for Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP. Private Desktop™ allows
its users to keep two desktops on their machine. One of these
desktops can be "secret", i.e. password protected and
invisible.
Simple And Useful
Private Desktop™ is based on the idea that at any time a PC user
may have some applications open that he or she does not want others
to view. Using Private Desktop™, one can put those applications
on a second desktop. This second desktop is identical to the main
desktop, except that it can be exited with the push of a button or
a click of the mouse. In order to protect one's privacy, a password
can be required for reentry into the second desktop. A password is
also necessary for entry into the Private Desktop™ settings menu.
Private Desktop™ is the perfect way to conceal your private
computer activities. Say you're on the job, taking a quick break
from your work to do a little web surfing. When the boss comes in,
a quick control-k or whatever button you specify will send you
right back to the desktop with your work on it. Or say you are
viewing some adult material on your computer and your kids walk
into the room - a quick click of the mouse will send you back to
your innocent desktop.
Create a list of files and programs that lock automatically.
One does not need to be wizard with their PC in order to use
Private Desktop™. Installation is straight forward and easy. The
interface to the program is extremely intuitive - you will not have
to go searching through help files every time you want to make
change to the settings.
