No. Ergotimer is a
program that runs silently in the background, keeping track of
your work with the mouse and keyboard, and tells you when to
take a break. Other than that Ergotimer has no effect on
your computer.

if I don't like it, is it easy to uninstall?
Yes. If you find that you do not like
Ergotimer, all you have to do is use the packaged uninstall utility.
